First Church is a Pentecostal church affiliated with the General Council of the Assemblies of God which seeks to serve all people in the Port Hueneme area as well as the greater Oxnard plain. First Church has been serving the area for over 50 years. While small, we have a great heart for God and for people.

Our Values

First Church is committed to sharing God’s love for the world and especially for Port Hueneme. We understand the basic need of all humans for forgiveness of sin and the empowerment of God’s Holy Spirit to live a life of true fulfillment and service to others. We believe that God values all humans as his chosen children for whom He sent His only Son to redeem from our sin and change us into the image of that Son. We believe that God offers to us the very best life possible while still respecting our free will. In a fallen world, He is our only hope!

Our Pastor

Dr. Ken Walters has served in ministry for over 40 years, including having pastored churches in Canyon Country and in Chatsworth, CA. He hails from Orange County. He is married to Cheri, who is also an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, and has 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
